The ideal sailing area
Sailing Chef sails along the Turkish Riviera and the Greek Islands. Apart from being one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the world, it also guarantees the smoothest sailing conditions.
Smooth sailing conditions are key to ensure you enjoy your Blue Voyage experience to the fullest. Datça Liman, our favourite departure harbour, is situated in the south-west part of the Datça peninsula, where the Mediterranean and Aegean seas meet. This makes it ideal for sailing the south as well as the north-side, which ensures winds are favourable and the sea calm.
The perfect climate
The climate is perfect as it is mild and never too hot. The best time for sailing is from April until late October when the temperature is 25 degrees and the sea still warm.

Easy to reach
Our sailing area is near multiple airports. Your departure harbour is just a short transfer away by taxi or ferry.
Fly to Dalaman
When you start your Blue Voyage from Datça or Marmaris, the nearest airport is the modern and convenient Dalaman (DLM) airport. Many airlines fly direct to Dalaman airport, including Turkish Airlines, Jet2, Easyjet, Corendon and British Airways. We are happy to arrange your transport to your departure harbour from there.
Fly to Bodrum - Rhodes - Kos
Besides Dalaman, you can also choose to fly to Kos, Rhodes or Bodrum and plan an extended vacation around your Sailing Chef gulet cruise.
From these airports, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a short ferry to your harbour of departure.
Please contact us and we are happy to help with any of your questions.

Departure harbours
You can depart your Blue Voyage from Datça, Marmaris or Bodrum. This means there's always an airport or ferry near your departure harbour.
Datça - ideally situated
We recommend making Datça your starting point. Its location near the edge of the peninsula ensures it has access to the best scenery and smoothest sailing conditions.
After departure from the harbour, we take you along the breathtaking coast of South West Turkey and the Greek islands. You will stay overnight in the harbour of the picturesque Greek island of Symi. Throughout your blue voyage, we take you from bay to bay, providing you with the sensation of total freedom.
The peninsula
It is easy to extend your Sailing Chef blue cruise with a stay on one of the Greek islands, visit the worldly city of Bodrum or explore the gorgeous Datça peninsula. The peninsula is a picturesque oasis where the Aegean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. The atmosphere is southern European, and the people are welcoming and friendly.
The ancient Greeks believed that Datça was personally created by Zeus, so beautiful are the rocky outcrops and aquamarine-coloured waters. The geographer Strabo said of Datça:
"God sent his promised creatures to Datça for them to live longer."
